Clean and safe drinking water is still inaccessible to millions of South Africans.
The Rotary SafeWater Project provides safe, clean drinking water to disadvantaged communities all over Africa. Run by the Sea Point Rotary Club, funds raised for the SafeWater project go towards purchasing and distributing portable water purifiers – the LifeStraw – that effectively remove bacteria and parasites from contaminated water. The LifeStraw significantly impacts on the incidence of diarrhoea, the biggest killer of children in Sub-Saharan Africa.
