Since 1988, the Reach For A Dream Foundation has brought hope, joy and healing to South African families by fulfilling the dreams of children suffering from life threatening illness.
Often these children, aged between 3 - 18 years, have used their dreams to fight illnesses such as cancer, cystic fibrosis, muscular dystrophy, kidney failure, blood disorders and heart conditions.
By inspiring hope, and enabling a fun aspect of childhood life by making a dream come true, children often respond better to their medication. Dream fulfilment distracts from the needles and the hospital environment that the child has sadly become accustomed to.
The positive effect the magical moments that Reach for Dream brings to a child’s life often lingers, alleviating strain on the family and transpiring into the child responding better to their medication, through inspired hope.
