It's no secret that I have a passion for charity and the disadvantaged communities, so nothing makes my heart more happy than a fun Valentines activity and initiative to raise fund s and awareness.

This Valentines a little piece of Paris comes to Cape Town in the form of The Love Lock Lane, a tribute to the original Love Bridge (Pont des Arts) that is situated in Paris, France. Traditionally, couples attach a “love lock” with their names on it to the bridge, before throwing the key in the River Seine. How about sharing that very same experience, but with a local twist that includes a bracelet and a love lock?

Entrance to the event is free, and your Love Lock Lane bracelet with love lock can be purchased for R50. Proceeds from the sale of these bracelets will be donated to five different causes: Haven Night Shelter, Tears Animal Shelter, Home of Hope, Atlantic Hope and Nazareth House.

The Love Lock Lane is situated on the Pierhead wooden deck, in front of the Hildebrand restaurant, at the V&A Waterfront.

Be sure to be there by 16:30 to join The Expresso Show’s celebrity dog couple Bob & Bella, who will be the first to secure a lock to the bridge. Thereafter, members of the public will be joining them by securing their own locks.

So come on ...

Join 100% not-for-profit social enterprise, Relate Bracelets, and the V&A Waterfront, for an exclusive Love Lock Lane experience and a memorable Valentine’s Day outing on the 14th February 2016.
