Operation Smile South Africa provides free surgeries to repair cleft lip, cleft palate and other facial deformities for children around the globe. The largest surgical charity of its kind, Operation Smile SA leads the research into the causes of cleft lips and palates, as well as prevention, treatment and eradication. Operation Smile works in 60 countries worldwide, 13 of them African, and has provided more than 220 000 free surgical procedures to children born with cleft lips or palates.
The Operation Smile SA bracelets were first launched exclusively in Woolworths as part of their Good Business Journey, giving customers the opportunity to give a child born with cleft palate the chance for a normal, healthy and productive future.
